Hi all,

I am currently living in a three story townhouse and we have a slight problem. Its a almost brand new house (1 year old). The central heating system appears to consist of a wall mounted boiler on the ground floor with a storage tank/immersion heater also on the ground floor, in the loft space there are two tanks a large square one (I assume to be the cold) and a very small rectangular one that I am not sure about.

The problem we have is that one shower in the house on the ground floor does not get hot. Its a mixer shower on the ground floor and the tap in the same room works fine. The shower seems to be getting water from the hot supply becuse when turned right round to the hot the pressure level changes and it gets luke warm. All other taps etc work fine its just this shower! I cant imagine that it would be the mixer because the pressure changes and its new!

Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Many Thanks

This is heating expansion tank.

If the hot water is working on your basin in the downstairs bathroom then I can only suggest that it is to do with the mixer tap - new or not!

If you could get to the hot water pipe that feeds the mixer tap you could feel it and see how hot it was getting. This would give you a clue as to the problem. (i.e. if it's getting hot but the shower is luke warm it's definitely the mixer tap.)
