I'm trying to get a second SIM as a back-up because I often find myself without service on Smarty (Three).

My current back-up SIM is GiffGaff (O2), and I'd like to replace it as they don't have WiFi calling.

To further complicate matters, some MVNOs (mobile providers who piggy-back off the main networks) say they offer WiFi Calling, but I read about a case where someone had a Pixel 7 Pro but did not have WiFi Calling with Lebara (Vodafone), despite Lebara saying WiFi Calling was available, yet when they used a Vodafone SIM, it worked no problem.

I know that you have to have a phone compatible AND a network that has capability for WiFi Calling to function.

I think I'm just going to have to buy a SIM and check whether it works OK.

My ID mobile (Three network) works fine on Wifi calling. 30 day rolling contract from £6 per month, Unlimited texts and calling, unused data rolls over plus inclusive EU roaming.

Slightly better deals with ID mobile if you buy through TopCashback or Uswitch.com etc
