Have two electric panel heaters in my garden office, want to install a thermostat that can be controlled from pc/mobile e.g. Nest. What would be compatible? ...any suggestions welcomed. Thanks

Most 'intelligent' thermostats are designed for use with a combi boiler, so will be fine for switching any heating system. However, the limitation is the receivers contact rating. the Nest's contacts for example are rated at 3A max, so only designed for a load of just over half a kilowatt. Most panel heaters are well in excess of that and as you say you have "heaters" then you will burn it out very quickly. A fairly simple solution would be to use the thermostat to switch a contactor or relay that has a sufficient rating.

You will also need to have a good WiFi signal down to the garden, and in the case of the Hive, it comes with it's own hub that generates its own signal. This hub needs to be hardwired to your existing router and in turn would need to be positioned within range of the garden office.

If you had WiFi in the shed, you could fit a Heatmiser standalone stat, the stat switching a contactor.

It doesn't learn, it doesn't predict, it just reacts to your inputs from the app or web. Turn the heaters on before you get there.

Pretty simple, as long as you have WiFi in range, it's not one you can wire (sadly).

Thanks, these should work.
