21 hours solid of talks, sounds like Iran wouldn't back down on the US red line of not producing nukes. Probably best the US re-engage sooner rather than later because there's a shedload of rockets on their way from China.
The idea of arming a country to dissuade potential attackers is a core tenet of national defense strategy known as deterrence. The fundamental goal is to convince an adversary that the costs of an attack would far outweigh any potential benefits
[Deterrence is] [t]he convincing of a potential aggressor that the consequences of coercion or armed conflict would outweigh the potential gains. This requires the maintenance of a credible military capability and strategy with the clear political will to act

Israel is the only democratic country in the region, I cannot ever see Iran becoming the second.I can't see it myself. I think there is 'unfinished' business left in Iran to sort out. Unfortunately.
The people of Iran deserve to live in peace and without fear. That, will only happen when true democracy reigns there.

By one measure several Middle East countries have a higher rating than Israel:Israel is the only democratic country in the region, I cannot ever see Iran becoming the second.
In democracy scores, particularly those produced by the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) Institute, the term deliberative measures the extent to which political decisions are based on public reasoning, respectful dialogue, and a focus on the common good, rather than on coercion, emotional appeals, or narrow self-interest.

The West Bank is only fractionally behind Israel, and they're not allowed to vote, nor have an election.

Surprise surprise eh?It all broke down because :
- the US didn't send negotiators, only half - baked lackies for the stroppy toddler
- the US have no determination for the effort required, they just want "a deal" like the rest of us want heads or tails from a coin toss. 21 hrs? Whoopy - dooo.........
- fundamentally, the US haven't grasped (can't grasp) that they don't hold the cards here. Hence the need for genuine, intelligent, non-belligerent, nuanced negotiators
Surprise surprise eh?
