Hi Guys

I have picked up some new windows and a door cheap, that were already pre made. I will be incorporating them into my new build garage which is still at DPC level.

What is the normal tolerance between the windows and the brickwork. ie how much wider and taller than the windows does the aperture in the brickwork need to be?

Make the structural opening 10mm wider and taller

Door is not not so obvious, +10mm on width.......height though might depend where you want the cill in relation to floor.

If its cavity construction with cavity closers, make sure your structural opening is 10mm bigger, if you go down to 5mm in places itll get tight.

Are you windows and doors you bought going to fit within your brick gauge? If not you need to work out whether to have a split couse under the cill or a thick pug line.

Dont forget the window cill in your height dims.
