Window lintel coal house

hello people flipping hot isent it..
Quick question from birmingham..
If i put this window in my old coal house would i need a lintel..never done a window before thats why im asking..

Yes ish....hard to tell from your pics, are the joists supported by the wall that the window is going in or is the new window wall parallel to the joists?
Either way, a cheapo concrete 63 x 110 x window width plus 300 or so will be fine- to be honest a lump of treated 4 x 2 would do the job given there's only 1 or 2 courses above it. If its the parallel wall I wouldn't even bother propping- cut the gap for the window (angle grinder and diamond disc = very neat), lift the top courses off, put lintel in, relay the course(s) above it
