Windows in solid walls

I have two upstairs UPVC windows which have been put into a previously solid wall in a former chapel. That side of the house is exposed to driving rain and water is leaking down and coming through the inside above the French doors below each of them and also coming through on the bedroom walls below the Windows. The wall is rendered with granite chippings which I am told should be removed and replaced with lime render but the windows sit on 25cm thick slate cills which protrude about 15cm without a drip groove underneath and no flashing below. What would be the best way to solve the problem?
Thanks

Not really but I think more is needed due to the amount of water coming in

Put a new post in the Building Section and include some photos inside and out and not just close-ups, show the windows in context. And its not overly clear (to me anyway) exactly where the leaks are.
