Windows Updates keeps flagging up an "important update"
When I check what it is it wants me to install, it turns out that it's IE9.
I don't want IE9 and I don't want it to keep reminding me that I need it.
Is there a way to keep the updates turned on but stop it telling me about IE9?

Go to Start -> All Programs -> Windows Update and then click on Check for updates, when it offers the IE9 update, right click it and select Hide Update.

Or wait for it to pop up next time you boot up.
Then right click the IE9 update and click Hide Update.

job done
