Hi Guys,

Since we have moved in (a few years ago now) our Triton Opal 10.5KW Electric shower has ALWAYS been unbearable during the winter months.

No matter what the setting, the shower simply does not get hot enough to be bearable. The only way to raise it to a sufficient temp is to flush the toilet ( I assume this reduces the flow through the showers elements).

Flow / pressure does not seem to be an issue as even when the toilet is flushed, the flow is still decent.

Any advice? Otherwise I will spend the winter reeking like an animal and engaging in wet wipe baths

If I can solve this issue, I will be in the missus' good books for a change. Haha.

Cheers

Why not speak to The Shower Doctor in Edinburgh, their guys are great with electric shower advice. Sorry I don't have a number, but if you Google it.....

electric showers are poor at the best of times during winter but should still be ok for a shower set to maximum hot especially a 10kw.
The reason it is worse in the winter is because the incoming main is colder so it takes longer to heat up the water.
If it is as bad as you say with barely tepid water then the heating element inside the shower could possibly be scaled up giving you vastly reduced performance that is especially noticeable in the winter months.

Have you got a hot-water cylinder? What colour? How is it heated? Where is the cold-water tank?
