Wire external sounder using zone or not (grade 3)

Hi,

In the panel instructions for Premier Elite 48 panel it provides 2 options for wiring a grade 3 external sounder...

1. Grade 3 installation
2. Grade 3 installation (using a zone)

However it does not tell me what the difference is or which one I should use?

Any ideas?

This will be for the fault output from the bell box in grade 3 mode.
DIY installs will not require this ,so wire without using fault output.
What bell box are you using ?

I read somewhere that when the battery ran low in the bell box or approached end of life this could set then alarm off. However when using the wires to zone option this would not happen and instead alert you to this, which is what I would prefer.
