Wireless light switch

I use MiHome Energenie light switches which don't need a neutral, however they do need a hub, and over 5 years three have gone faulty, and this is the problem, even the simple light bulb from Lidi I found needed a hub, it that case zigbee which are cheaper, but still needed a hub, the MiHome only needs a hub to use phone, the remote control does not need a hub.

Any two wire electronic switch i.e. no neutral, puts a little power through switch when off, some bulbs flash when switched off, and some shimmer when switched on.

So yes can be done, but better if device plugs in, so if it goes faulty you can unplug it.
