Wireless stat and Potterton ep3200

Hi All,


I am looking to install an RF thermostat into our new borns room as there is no TRV in there at present, would also like more control in the temp in her room than a TRV.

Firstly, what is a recommended RF stat, it seems to be a mine field or are they all as good as one an other?

Secondly, could someone advise looking at the pics attached where the stat would fit onto the Potterron ep3200 timer.

It sounds as if you are worried that your baby will get too cold. Very unlikely in a centrally heated house. In any case an extra blanket will do the same job as having the heating on overnight.

Any stat you install will have to be connected alongside the main stat downstairs, so you may find that one stat is trying to turn the boiler on, while the other one wants to turn it off.- Result: both the baby and you get too hot.

The recommended temperature is only 18C.

The last thing you want is to have the room too hot.

Buy a Max-Min thermometer, put it in the baby's room and monitor the temperature for a week.

It is more the other way around, i want to be able to put some heat on in her room ( at present we haven't as her room is the radiator with the open valve so it gets too hot) without cooking here.

Im more than aware of the fact a baby should be colder than hot etc...

There isn't a stat downstairs so my question still stands really, assuming the stat just breaks the circuit going to the CH side i just wire the transmitter in line with said circuit.

My question really was which number on the panel would that be and if anyone can recommend a decent RF stat.

Thought I had gatecrashed mumsnet for a second.

Why don't you just put a TRV on the rad in baby's room, and make the rad in another room the bypass rad by taking off it's TRV?

I wouldn't recommend a room stat in one bedroom, controlling the ch for the whole house. But, if you're determined, the swiching wires from any RF stat's receiver need to break into the wire that goes to terminal 4 on the Potty programmer. I would recommend the Drayton Mistat RF, as you can disable the TPI function on it. For me, TPI is pants.
