I'm looking to put a wireless thermostat onto a Gloworm ultimate 40bf which is gravity hot water. To get the central heating you need both the heating and water turned on. I was wondering if it was possible to wire it so that when the thermostat calls for heat it turns both on and likewise turns both off when heat is satisfied?

The current programmer will be getting replaced at the same time, so if the above is possible, any recommendations on a programmer and wireless stat to do this job would be great.

Thanks

It might be worthwhile converting your system to a "C Plan", which will allow you to have the heating and hot water on separately. You would require a motorized valve in the cylinder return and a cylinder thermostat.

With your current system the boiler is turned on and off by the boiler thermostat; all the room thermostat does is turn the pump on and off. That's why, in the winter, you have to have both on.

If you don't go down the "C Plan" route, your new programmer must be switchable between fully pumped and gravity HW. Any thermostat can be used.
