I recently fitted a honeywell cmt927 wireless thermostat to my combi boiler and i have a few questions now ive finally got round to using it.
I assigned a temperature of 20 degrees and when the room finally reached it the flame symbol didnt go out on the stat - i assumed it would go out (meaning the sysytem has switched off) to preserve gas when the correct temperature was reached?
It even got upto 20.5 but the flame was till on - can other people with this stat tell me if the flame always stays on even when the heating is off or is this symbol meant to go out?
My other question is how high should i have the actual boilers thermostat should i just whack it up to full now that i have a roomstat to cut out the heating when required?
Any advice appreciated
Regards

Turn the boiler stat to max.

Let the Honeywell take control.

The light should go out on the relay box when there is no demand. Don't think the flame symbol goes out.

Andy :)

Turn the boiler stat to max.

So that there is a good chance that the boiler won’t condense due to the returning water being above 57C thus defeating what a condensing boiler is meant to do. Doesn’t seem like eco sound advice.

Have a look at this old thread about the ideal return temperature.

For 19 years I lived with a semi cold radiator in my lounge but thanks to this forum it now heats up at the same rate as the rest of the house. After careful adjustments and the balancing of my radiators which took a week my boiler is set to kick out CH water at 69C which is returned at a never higher temp of 56C.
