Wiring a Gas Hobb

Can you possibly tell me if I can wire the electric lighter on my new Gas Hobb into the wiring that previously provided power to the electric hobb I have just removed?

in principle yes you can, i dunno if nz wiring regs would have any strange requirements disallowing it.

if you do it make sure there is suitable overcurrent protection in place (e.g. if the hob was intended to be plugged in then the breaker should probablly be changed for the same value (or lower) that you use on your sockets.
