Hi,

I have an old transformed shaver socket exactly where I want to put a new lighted bathroom cabinet.

What is the correct way to take the supply out of the wall?

Do I need a waterproof FCU? Will an ordinary FCU do? Or is it some other thing altogether?

I already know this is notifiable.

regards

Adrian

Your shaver point will have a large box.

Asssuming the shaver point is on the lighting circuit (most are), connect the wires from the cabinet to the existing wires using a piece of terminal strip.

If the above is true then you do not need an FCU. I would question if its notifiable as you are not changing the fixed wiring, only an accessory attached to it. Unless you are doing other electrical work there too???
