Wiring behind units

Hello.

When chasing cables into a wall that are going to have fixed units covering them, is it necessary to plaster them in, or can they just be fixed using the approprite cable clips?

Plaster them in, just ensure that no chases will be were the fixing for cabinets will be or big bang time...

If there are fixed cabinets on the walls, where are the accessories that these buried cables are supplying?

Hi

The wiring is in the kitchen. From floor level to sockets at counter-top level, which then continues to above the wall cabinets to another socket that will provide power for lights.

I am merely running the cable, a quilified part P electrician is connecting and testing.

Obviously between the counter top and the bottom of the wall cablinets, there will be tiles eventually.

OK - as long as the sockets are in line, and the cables run vertically, not off at some odd angle...

It is very common to see the cables clipped surface below the worktop/behind the units, and then chased in for the 6inch or so upto the sockets. Quick, easy, less mess, more convenient for alterations next time.

Cables run vertically, no bends to the bottom of the first socket, then straight out of the top to the next one.

So there is no regulation that says they must be plastered in? Just that I can fit the units today and make some progress rather than have to plaster them in and take longer.
