Hello hope someone could clarify this for me.

I'm trying to decide where to put mounting boxes prior to having the house rewired. Am I right in thinking that I can't run wire's within 15cm of a pipe? This will cause real problems under the bedrooms upstairs due to the CH pipes cutting off the walls I want to put sockets on.

Many Thanks

Jo

crossing CH pipes is allowed as long as they don't touch, but as much distance as possible should be manitained from the pipes as the ambient temperature in the void that the pipes occupy and in close proximity to the pipes will require the de-rating of the cables..

I like to put plasterboard between and pipes and cables, i once went to a lighting fault and the new boiler was so hot it melted through a lighting cable and the short blew a hole in the central heating pipe!!!!!

jeesh.. one little slip of a finger and sudenly possible gets starred out and turned into another word for drunk...

Thanks john will do that too, got some off cut MR plasterboard.

Thanks for clarifying Coljack, was wondering what that word was.
