Hi All

I am planning on running the wiring for a home alarm system in the near future as the floorboards are lifted ceilings have been removed for a home refurb.
I plan on running the wires then have someone connect and configure the alarm for me.
I will have 4 x PIR and 2 x door contact, 1 bellbox plus keypad. Main control panel is to be housed under the stairs.
Question - do I run a separate wire from where the control panel will be housed to each PIR/contact/keypad?
As far as I know, this would give me separate zones which is fine but does anything need to be connected in series?
I was just planning on running 8 cables (4 PIR, 2 contacts, 1 bellbox, 1 keypad) from where the control panel will be to each endpoint.

TIA

Yep that is the way to do it, suggest you buy eight core cable you may only need 4 cores for most of the devices, but if they are concealed you don't want top find issues after the floors and ceiling are back in place. The extra cores may also be useful in the future for expansion of the system.
