I have serviced before what looks like a solid fuel boiler with a pressure jet oil burner on the front door (bivalliant) .These things a quite large beasts, usually kept in cellar of large houses.
Has anybody seen one and do you remember the maker?
Cheers[/u]

Any chance of a picture, Mike?
I remember something like that made by Afos of Hull....long gone I suspect. They used a NuWay ZL2 heap.
John :)

Did a gas fired one in the Park in Notts, customer supplied it and I can't find the info

Unfortunately not John, but I do recall the boiler has being an "either, or" setup. With customer tending to go for oil instead of tending a furnace. Thought it would be a desirable hybrid for larger homes these days. Would need a large buffer though for solid fuel.

Several makes available including HOVAL, CTC, STREBEL, some such as the FARM2000 will burn oil/Straw bales  (Combination Solid/Gas/Oil boilers are not new technology and have been around since the 1950's!!)
Hoval TKS for instance (and it had a built in Hot Water Calorifier)

But have any been updated to log gasifiers or high efficient pellets plus kerosene back up?

What models do these companies have in their current product line?

Kunzel in Germany make these.

Sounds good, will try to get more info. Ta

Also Atmos....

Kotly advertise the 20kw combi model for £2300 including vat.
The big advantage with this boiler is the simplification of the plumbing.
And also has an internal cooling loop as standard so no need to faff around with heat leak rads etc.

They are very versatile but would not get RHI payments for the install due to the fossil fuel input. :( (Bivalent)
