Yeah, I own some Japanese saws, they're excellent.... BUT....you have to use with a different mindset and stance, main difference being of course that they cut on the pull stoke rather than the push with western saws. this means you have to completely reverse your stance, if you don't you will break the saw.

They're also like the chisels - designed for use on softwoods, etc - meaning that they can/will break teeth when used on a lot of the denser/harder woods. They can take some getting used to. Nowadays Z-Saw do make a few saw blades specifically for use on hardwoods, but amongst Japanese manufacturers they are a bit of an exception
