Hi,

I have 3 outside doors which are painted white and need a refresh. I was hoping to actually not paint them white but get a high sheen varnish wood effect going.

I'm completely unsure if this is possible as don't know what type of wood the door is made from, could be some cheap MDF or plywood.

I've attached pictures, can anyone offer any insight or advice on what I could potentially do?
If anyone has any inspiration I'm open to ideas.
Otherwise, if it looks like an impossible job, I'll have to just re-coat in white.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply,

My doors are 100% wood so don't think i'd need a wrap. just not sure if i can apply varnish to this kind of wood.

you have a naked person in a see through plastic bag you have all the wrinkles and bits on show
you then put them in a white dress you have a person in a white dress
you have a wooden door with varnish you have exactly what the varnish is covering a white door
you need to strip to the wood to see the natural colour and grain
if its ply the grain will look carp as its rolled off the log and doesn't look good
