Is it okay to lay an engineered wooden on top of the normal t&g floorboards? Would you nail the engineered floor onto the normal t&g floorboard?

Engineered boards are normally laid as a floating floor using a suitable underlay. Follow manufacturers instructions and lay at right angles to existing boards.
