Hi Folks,
Just moved into a new flat which has a Worcester 24i combi boiler. Age unknown but think it could be around 8 yrs old. It's heating the radiators and water fine the problem is that the over-heat cut off keeps triggering which requires me to reset the system. Once I've done this the boiler continues to work fine, for a while (anything from 1 hr up). Problem usually occurs after about 1-2hrs after turning the heating on. I have noticed that the pressure gauge is going up (to about 2.5) prior to cut-off and drops off (to about 2) after the over-ride is triggered.
I'm planning on getting a plumber out but sometimes it's nice to get some advice before to see the lay of the land. I had a fault with my previous boiler which I managed to fix by replacing the circuit board for thirty pounds when the plumber quoted me around 400. I did that with the help of this site so am hoping for another miracle.
Any advice would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks and regards
Kate
