Hi Folks,

Just moved into a new flat which has a Worcester 24i combi boiler. Age unknown but think it could be around 8 yrs old. It's heating the radiators and water fine the problem is that the over-heat cut off keeps triggering which requires me to reset the system. Once I've done this the boiler continues to work fine, for a while (anything from 1 hr up). Problem usually occurs after about 1-2hrs after turning the heating on. I have noticed that the pressure gauge is going up (to about 2.5) prior to cut-off and drops off (to about 2) after the over-ride is triggered.

I'm planning on getting a plumber out but sometimes it's nice to get some advice before to see the lay of the land. I had a fault with my previous boiler which I managed to fix by replacing the circuit board for thirty pounds when the plumber quoted me around 400. I did that with the help of this site so am hoping for another miracle. :D

Any advice would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks and regards

Kate

Try lowering the stat on boiler,so its not staying on as long,it could be the pump, but properly muck in system,2 bar is ok,just gets to25 when hot due to expansion
