Hi Guys

My boiler has started having issues firing up, it clicks a few times and you hear the flame starting up, sounds like it's started for around 3 or 4 seconds ( everything sounds normal at this stage ) then for no reason it switches off and starts the whole process again....after a few goes it finally starts and seems to run fine.

Pressure looks good and boiler has been perfect up until now

Has anyone else had this and any ideas what might be going wrong...I'm terrified of losing the boiler as I will almost certainly freeze to death in my sash windowed flat.

Sorry unknown I've only lived here for 3 months, been a great boiler up until now.

Can I service it myself, clean the burners or does it have to be a CORGI engineer, I'm a very capable mechanical engineer by profession.

you need a gas engineer, not a mechanical engineer, to service a gas boiler.

Do you think it just needs a service? what part gets dirty/coked up to cause it to click away and not fire up ?
