When i switch on the central heating the boiler goes
into start up mode every time for the first 10 to 15 minutes,
and then its away even though its left on standby for the
domestic water. my installer says its normal even though in the book it says only after the its been switched off on the mains. is he right or
am i being fussy. cheers

i tried that but it still happens,
it says in the book its to fil the condensate trap
and the display alternates between "-11-" and water temperature
for 15 mins, but only after mains supply as been interupted which it
hasnt been. Cheers

is it the conventional, system or combi??

I had this last week on one because it had been wired incorrectly (conventional) the faulty wiring caused a prob with the PCB. This is probably not the case with yours.

If it does it every time it is a fault on the PCB, Is it still in warranty?? if so call WB out.

The only other time it goes into syphon fill mode is if the CH stat on the boiler is turned to summer setting

The boiler is a combi condensing boiler and is 2 weeks old,
It works a treat but i dont think it should go through this
procedure every time i turn the heating on. cheers

That alternating display is the syphon fill mode and as far as I know only happens after power off.Check your connections to the boiler are not interrupted at any stage.I meant get your installer to do it.
