water is leaking from the water jacket it appears to have corroded but it is difficult to see , the leaks seem very small but in different places, its only been in service 8years the harcal oil boiler I had in before lasted 30years no leaks does anyone know if this the life span & can you just change the water jacket if parts available

you can just change the jacket but an effin mission on these boilers. as everything seems to leak on them if disturbed.basically typical worcester.think theres different heat ex for various years. so be aware. in the long run it probably might pay to get a new boiler. but its not unheard off from that age, for the heat ex to go. acctually see it alot. p.s check the aav, they can leak causing a sign that a water jacket has gone.

Get the Serial Number (it's under the top cover on top of the control panel,)you'll need this to get a quote for a new one they are around £500+vat - so cheaper than a complete boiler and easier to install than a new boiler too!

New boiler time and don't buy another worcester.
I am not impressed by overpriced worcester stuff gas or oil.

An excellent time to swap to an air source heat pump.
12kw one off ebay approx 1200pounds should do you and will
be cheaper to run than the oil boiler.

Yeah, ASHP off ebay.

Miles better than a Worcester and bound to be suitable for the OP's property.

Which you haven't seen.
