Does anyone know how I get my boiler to work again!! Overnight it's been cold and I don't think it likes it. I've downloaded the manual and I think the problem is the autofroststat thinggy but it doesn't tell you what to do to get it running again. Is it fixable or do I need to get out a plumber/heating engineer?
Thanks

I think you are chasing the wrong fault.

First thing to check is that there is water in the boiler, the 35CDi is a combi I believe (the 30CDi and 40CDi both have open vent and combi variants).

The pressure gauge on the front should be showing around 1 bar. If it is less than 0.5bar this is the problem.

I have woken up this morning to this problem on the same model of boiler. I have no hot water or heating and the pressure is below 0.5.

I have rang my gas engineer but as expected went straight to voicemail with it being New Years Day. Is there anything I can do myself to get the pressure up or is it something only a specialist can do? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks folks, it is a combi the water pressure is 1.5 bar, the overflow pipe works when it goes to about 2.5. It has done this before in cold weather which is why I think its the auto frost. No intentions of doing anything remotely other than pressing buttons on the front of the console if there's nothing ther e I should press then I guess I'll have to gop back to old fashioned ways of heating water and get the oil heaters out.

I have a cold inlet tap on my boiler I simply tiurn it until the pressure is about 1- 1.5 bar. I would imagine if its the same model you should have one too it's coloured blue and is a flip type swith(?) hope that makes sense

The frost stat makes the boiler come on in cold weather, not go off.

Check the instructions you have downloaded to see if the model has a resettable overheat thermostat (there were lots of 35CDi versions).

Regarding the other poster, you need to have a white key (supplied with the boiler) which is inserted in the bottom of the boiler. The instructions for the 'filling loop' are in your boiler manual, or usually downloadable from the customer area of www.worcesterbosch.co.uk.

Thanks Simon

Will have a look and see if the instructions make any sense.

Happy New Year

Have repressurised boiler and pressed reset but boiler still not working. :( Getting error message EA. Anymore suggestions.

Thanks

Caroline

EA is fault code when no flame is detected there's a fair few things it can be but the most common is a blockage in the condensate trap or pipework.

Problem now sorted and heating & hot water working again.

My plumber has had several calls for this make & model of boiler that all seemed to stop working at midnight on New Years Eve. He told me to reset then turn power off for 30 secs then back on again, and then hey presto the boiler kicked in again!

Pat its worth a try before calling the plumber in, if you haven't already.
