help. i have a 6 month old 28i boiler.every time the boiler fires up we have a very obnoxious odour around the house which is causing headaches ,sore throats ,blisters on tongues etc.worcester engineers have been out twice and say no fault with boiler.gas board been and found no faults.installer (corgi registered)been and says everything is ok with instalation.the odour has been picked up by the last worcester engineer but he says it isn`t the boiler.it is a very pungent/acidy /chemical taste and at the moment the boiler is shut down because we cant stand the air conditions in the house.has anybody else had a similar problem.i know of one other person with a similar problem (same boiler) and they are also getting nowhere.

does it smell when you use hot water, heating or either? Is the smell all over house, or localised to boiler area/particular room

I had a complaint like that on an older boiler!

I sent engineer round who said it was fine.

The customer called me again to say it was still making the smell. I suggested he checked the fridge or freezer.

He thanked me the next day as the freezer had been leaking refridgerant!

Fumes from drains??

I assume they have used their Flue gas annalysers and taken an ambient reading with the room ventilated and then when the boiler is in operation to check for CO. ??
