Ok so the system is as drained as it can be ...... (Very few drain points) ......... Well one to be exact ..... along side the boiler

So you isolate the radiator ......... Then .......(Stupid question time) How do ya get the radiator off the wall down the hall & outside ....... Without water slooshing every freakin' where ?

Or do we do it sloooooooow & try & catch the water in a plastic tray or summink ........

I know this is basic..... But ..... Well I'm a basic kinda guy :D

FFS. Take it to its basics rad is isolated so you empty it into a baking tray then a bucket. AT worst once you have emptied rad stick some kitchen roll/toilet paper into rad tails sharp tug up an off brackets then turn rad upside down so if any shi#e in rad it don`t come out as you move it.... common sense

Pull the carpet back, thumb over the end, lift off and turn upside.

Note. will need two people!

Draining a radiator is a slow boring process. Thumbing it is a bit more exciting.
