Can't you cut the joint first then cut the worktop down to 400?

So what do you want to do with the jig, still very vague?

Really sorry. Ok I am putting in a worktop down the back wall then attach another part of it to it at a 90 degree right angle. I need to use the jig to put the fittings in underneath to join both worktops together.....

Hopefully this sounds right ??

I can't really see the problem here. 2 worktops at 600mm. Cut the joint using a 600 jig then reduce one worktop to 400 by trimming the back edge.

Or am I missing something?

No it still needs to be mitred as it has a bevelled edge on it.........
