Hi,
I've inherited an Ariston Genus 27 boiler when i bought my house. Now that we're knocking walls down etc. I need to get it re-sited to the other side of the room but wondered whether it was worth it or should I just get a replacement boiler fitted.
Money is an issue because I could really do with spending it elsewhere but thought that people here might have some experience about how good these boilers are (or not). I believe it is a storage combi which helps because it runs two showers so I would want to replace with something comparable.

Any thoughts on keeping it or replacing it would be appreciated. An indication on what I would expect to pay would also be useful. We have full access to pipework in the loft.

Many thanks

There is more work moving an existing boiler than fitting a new one!

The boiler would be moved to quite a restricted position too so that's a concern. What make do plumbers prefer to work on/are reliable? Then I can at least have an opinion when i get it quoted.

Sparer, your boiler is. Similar I've to other boilers as well, so if present is size restrictive, then most others will be similar.

Relocating present boiler a good idea as you will not need to clean the system which is esential should replace. See John wrong with present boiler- well laid out and regularly service this model and pares in stock for nge vsi repair. Only thing that seems to fail is the diaphragm 8)
