Worth keeping smoke alarm points?

I am renovating a house and now I am plastering.the house has points in ceiling for smoke alarm( I threw away smoke alarms)

Is it worth keep the electrical points for smoke alarm? Or should I plaster over?

I heard there's some better battery stuff out

There's no point in leaving the wires there unless you're going to reinstate the alarms -which I think would be a good idea.

The mains alarms are always better than the battery types, but the best is a mains with a battery backup. Avoid the Angel variety of alarms though.
 
Get rid of that back plate. No modern alarms are compatible.

The cabling should be fine, just leave it poking out through the ceiling (the actual cable, not the cables in pic with connector on it).

Fit some Aico Easyfits to the cables. Mains and battery. How it should be.
