I’m thinking of a extension but only access but would this pass building regulations?

Depends if the inspector was a Fruitcake or a Plank.

One like this? Or have you already done it?
Either way the answer is no.

That doesn't even warrant an explanation!

How deep is this landing as the photo doesn’t show it to be much... definitely less than the width of the stair?

The landing as far as I’ve been told only needs to be a step as the door opening into the room and not onto the stairwell is this wrong ?

ADK calls up for a landing at the top or bottom of a stair, which has to be as deep as the width of the stair, etc... It does not specially mention doors off stairs although that may be more a fire escape issue, i.e. ADB. However, my understanding is that even with a door off a stair, a compliant landing space should be provided outside it. This would involve pushing the door further into the room and a slight re-design of the stair.

What is this in relation to because is that image showing a new stair up to a second/loft floor and access being provided to a first floor room? Or is this a stair between ground and first floor levels with access needed to a ground floor room?

This is to access a side first story only extension to access the room.

So you’re proposing a first floor or two storey side extension and the only access into this new first floor room is off the stair between the first and second floor levels?

Do you have any floor plans you can upload?

The extension will span the 2 properties and the access will only be able from the first floor window witch is the middle gable window on the drawing

If not already obtained, I'd be more concerned about getting planning permission.
