Yes.

It's about flying a flag, not about what age or sex you are.

Change the words to "hard working people of any sex and age that can work without a flag"
 
Put very simply

Who goes to work for somebody else and sticks a flag up ?

It's not what normal hard working people do


And mbk is 1 of those that often proclaims that people should get on their bike and go look for work. But is now objecting

Other than your amendments, do you have a source for that quote?

And the original may be factually accurate, it is not saying all middle aged white men, but that they are the ones doing it. Which is pretty much true.

Turn up to a scaffolding firm local to us without the full PPE and you'll be docked half a days' pay. You must wear a seat belt on your way there too. And whilst you are at it, clip yourself to every hand-rail. No draping clothes on the ends of the stanchions either.

Yes, you are free to obey site rules or pi$$ off and try your luck elsewhere.
