One of the men we owe so much. shame the national lottery couldnt do something for him instead of giving the money away on the stupid things they do

It's a shame to sell the medals, why not a biography book about his life?

It would be a good book to read

Well, he did what he had to do ... Blooming glad I don't have to make such decisions. Kill or be killed .. simple or complex as that
Life just isn't meant to be as easy as most of us have it, I am sure.. Payment may be due...

Exactly who would want that decision but they had no choice.

Thing about conciencious objecters is that nobody really objects to them except when they are required to do their bit and they refuse, but this new kind just try and slur the memory who did their bit for them, i suppose thats what they call bravery

Concies should have their own country and be together in harmony but the trouble is as history will tell you that somebody somewhere will want what they have and then come and take it by force and then as usual they will expect someone else to fight and die for them

cashing in on murder or is it defending your country?
FFS - whatever your views on the rights and wrongs of armed conflict, and why it's OK for people in uniform to bomb civilians but it's not OK for civilians to bomb people in uniform, that was spectacularly uncalled for...

You should be grateful, it was the sacrifice of men like him and those who paid the ultimate price that gives you the freedom to make such a crass and insulting comment....

Had they not made that sacrifice, you would likely be shot for such a comment..now there's a thought :D

It is a national disgrace that someone of his stature must seel medals awarded for his actions in combat for this country now has to sell them to secure his financial future...

Only in Britain is this tolerated...

Sorry to say this guys, but if he sold his medal for 5 or 10 grand. Then that would be out of order. But as he got £120,000 for it. Well lets face it, at least they will be able to live in serious comfort and not just get by!

Looks like the medal secured his future!

Not really any state handouts he was getting or would be due he wont get now---but of course he only risked his life for those who will now penalise him.
