Hi,

We have a crabtree fuse box and circuit breakers. Have bought a wylex circuit breaker for a 6A general lighting circuit breaker replacement by mistake - are crabtree and wylex breakers compatible with eah other or does it have to be a crabtree circuit breaker?

Any help would be much appreciated...

Neil

If they are the current range then no. The crabtree ones have a plug-in busbar, the Wylex and most other types do not.

Only use the correct ones. The manufacturer will have safety and type tested the consumer unit and this will only apply if you use the manufacturer's own contact breakers.

Crabtree and Wylex are very common makes, take the Wylex one back and change it.
