yeah, we've had this mentioned 4 times already and it's in one of the stickies at the top of the page.. but it doesn't hurt to repeat it for those late to the party.

The Mirror today:

"Homes were warned to check for Volex Crabtree and Wylex circuit breakers after a risk of burning was found."

Hmmmm not sure a single indescript sentence really highlights the seriousness of this recall.

I read that earlier - It'll put the frighteners up anybody who owns a consumer unit with MCB's branded as above.

No mention of dates for the faulty batches, just the text Steve listed above!

Anyone done anyhing about this yet?

Have changed the only three I have fitted in the last year as I tend to fit Hager.

Am still awaiting a guide from Electrium on how to identify the duff mcbs, and they are willing to pay £75 for each mcb I have to replace.

It is £75 per board, not per MCB. You have to supply and fit the MCB yourself, getting no refund for the ones you send back in their pre-paid envelope.

You get the £75 for registering an address with them, even if you get to site and find all the MCB's are OK. Obviously only if a Wylex or other affected board is fitted.
