I have just bought a HSA6080 remote keypad for my HSA6400 wireless alarm. I have successfully added it as a device; I know this because (a) it is recognised when I do a walk test, (b) I can arm the system by pressing the red padlock picture aka the arm button, and the exit time countdown begins as expected. However I can't disarm the system by pressing the green padlock disarm key followed by my 4 digit normal access code. The manual doesn't seem to be completely clear, and I basically need idiot-proof instructions. Tried calling Yale helpline twice, on hold twice for 20 mins + before hanging up, as they were experiencing an unusually high volume of calls, but of course my call was important to them! Any ideas? Thanks

Guessing here.

You armed the system and stood by the keypad and then tried to disarm?

Try opening the door and doing it.

Hadn't thought of that. Just tried arming system, opened door to begin countdown, then press green padlock +**** on keypad, but same outcome. Its as if its not recognising the PIN code as valid

Keypad code changing and setting
The keypad code is separate from the user
codes and is used to access the keypad test
(programming) mode. This will need to be changed
to preserve security. The keypad has two
operational modes, PIN code and command. The
keypad needs to be set to the PIN code mode to be
compatible with the control unit.
1 Press the ‘A’ key followed by factory default
keypad code ‘0000’.
2 The LED will now flash slowly indicating it is in test
(programming) mode.
3 Press the ‘A’ key followed by the ‘7’ key to set the
keypad into PIN code mode.
4 Press the ‘B’ key and enter new four digit keypad
code followed by the Arm key.
5 Quit test mode by pressing the disarm key twice.
The keypad code and mode setting has been
completed.
• The keypad code is not used by the system, only
the keypad itself. You should not have to use this
code again so make a note of it and keep it in a
safe, secure place.

Did all that - as per manual. However, when I tried disarming with keypad using code 0000 it worked. So it seems that I never set a code properly. I have now managed to do that and it works, so that is sorted. I do have another issue though:- the phone dialer works and successfully calls my mobile (which is nice). However when I try to do remote access from my mobile, following the instructions in the manual (phone the number, ring off immediately, wait 10 secs, phone again ... it should pick up immediately (allowing you to enter you PIN) but it just rings and rings. Any ideas? Thanks for your help

The timing is unique to each system depending on your phone at home.

You just need to try different timings until you find the one that works with your system.

Try five seconds instead. If that doesn't work try longer than 10 seconds say 13.

It all depends on how your home phone handles your calls. Some systems continue to play the ring melody after the phone has been put down at the other end and so aren't immediately able to process the second incoming call.

The instructions for synching your remote keypad are a little easier tha explained previously.

You don't need to programme a code into the keypad just simply instruct it to sync to the control panel.

The easy way is -

set the control panel pin code either during easy install mode or via

pr-code-tick
down arrow to adv settings
tick
pin code
tick - follow instructions.

backspace repeat until out of pr mode.

Now you have set the panels code it's easy to syc the remote.

simply button A
code
button A
7
unlock key
unlock key

You don't have to go through the process of actually setting the code in the keypad itself.
