Yale HSA6400 re-install

Hi,
So it seems my 6400 control panel is no more, so I got a refurb control panel.
My question is regarding the re-installation of the original PIR's, siren and door contacts. Do I have to take them down or just push the button on them to be registered on the new control panel?

You may find it easier to take them down and have them near the panel, but you usually don't have to on most systems.

you can also carry the panel around with you, while you press each sensor in turn. Otherwise, you have to keep a note of the order you pressed each, so you can record its location (front door, back door, hallway, garage, etc)

The panel's tamper switch does not start to activate until you fit it to the wall bracket.

IMO, with a new system, I think it is easier to have all the components on a table in front of you while you learn them in. Wrap the siren in cushions.
