... that my Baxi Bermuda back boiler is about 100 years old and I should get a new one! But for now I've no money and now - no heating. Any advice would be gratefully received;-
The pilot light is on, the temperature control seems to be working, the pump works. it just wont fire up (the front fire works fine so there's no problem with the gas).
As far as I can see the fault has to be an electrical one between the thermostat and the switch/valve that regulates the gas to the main jets. I've tested the thermostat as best I can but would be grateful for any advice on tests to do / things to check etc etc

Possibly a gas valve problem, which you need a Corgi reg engineer to replace (£££££ ). But first check the electrical circuit - is there a transformer on this boiler? Is thermostat working, is transformer working, is there electrical continuity to and from gas valve solenoid? Simple electrical checks for a competent person (meaning someone competent with electrics).
