Hi all
after a quick search on the forum I wondered if could ask a few questions?
we have a 10 year old (Berkley) house with concrete floors on the ground floor.
I am hoping to lay a solid wooden floor onto the hall (approx 5 m lon and 1m at the narrowest 2m at the widest)
I was intending to remove the skirting boards and leave an expansion gap underneat the skirtings.
So my questions are:
which is the best method to glue direct to the floor or floating?
i understand that that if its floating it will need a membrane laying down first.
If its to be glued directly i may need to lay a DPM- do you think this would be neccessary on our house?
finally as its the hallway it has 5 door ways coming off it. would i be best to start laying from the centre out or would i be better off starting from the longest wall? The reason I ask is because if i did that then i would have a small strip in the entrance of each doorway.
sorry if i am being thick?
thanks all in advance
