You could not make it up.

So why didn't patents phone back before handing over the money?
Reminds me of carrot in a box. (look that up if you don't know)
How did you win.

Hes thick and believes anything you tell him. Ha. Best comedy ever.

When it comes to handing over money be careful. Scamners paradise at the moment.

Where is common sense gone these days???

My mum who is elderly some **** knocked on the door and said it wanted to come in and check for a leak. Mum asked for hits ID, he showed it here but
mum knows she does not have a clue what a Brit Gas rep ID should look like. Mum said she will phone his office he tried to give mums number she refused it and told him that could be his mates number and had a chuckle with him and then told him to wait as she will call BG. It was off like a shot mum rang the cops they were very good and checked around the area etc.

To send money to a begging child because they cant be arsed to phone etc is laughable.

Scammers are getting clever and one they tried on me is a text from what appeared to be the post office saying they can't deliver a parcel and need me to pay them 1.90p and wanted my full details in bank account. I rang the post office fraud line they were quick off the mark and told me straight away it was a fraud.

Has a call from Tesco a few weeks back saying our cc was not being accepted, we tried with the same info they had already whislt i was on the line to the ****s at the cc place as we have a 9k limit and only spend about 4k a month on it and pay in full, **** card now with different people. Anyone, i decided to pay via debit card to ensure shopping was delivered took the ladies name but i rang her back through a generic Tesco number - took a bit longer but it was and felt safer.

Common sense does not cost anything and always treat texts/phone calls/emails/knocks on doors as though they are out to rob you and you will be ok.

Proof, if proof is needed, that you cannot help stupid.

I do not for one second, not even one fraction of a split millisecond, think that this is as big a problem as what this @rsewipe MSM outlet wants you to think it is. This is an article that is designed to extract your reaction, nothing more & nothing less. It is more than quite possible that the people being mentioned by this article don't actually exist.

Of course, if/when the awful dawn of realisation sweeps across your conscience you will deny that you can be so stupid as to ever have imagined that this whole story was commissioned & published purely to attract your attention.

If you know anyone who could be this stupid, then you live in a very linear world.

Does anyone actually 'KNOW' anyone who has been / or could possibly fall victim to this dross?

If I got a text, WhatsApp message or by whatever other method they may use, the first thing I would do is phone my child on the number I hold for them. If they didn't answer I would continue to call them during the next 24 hours. Still no answer? Then I would write to them and wait for a reply but in the meantime I would ask one of my sisters who live in the same city to go to their address and ask if they were alright.
I certainly wouldn't transfer them any money, especially if it wasn't to the bank details I already hold for them.
It's just common sense.

In the era of online banking, we should not be faced with sending money without being able to validate the identity of the bank account holder or for that money not to be ring fenced if the account is new. I nearly lost £65k a few months ago when a fraudster intercepted an email between me and a Lawyer, it was only when I called her PA to check why the bank account had changed that we realised her online email had been hacked. The other reason I was suspicious, was that fraudster responded really quickly to my emails. Something very out of character for this person ;)

mrs had one the other day .
mum i have dropped my phone down the toilet and will be using this number for the time being . the precursor to attempted fraud

I had a new one today:
"You are now eligible to apply for your NHS Covid 19 pass.
Failure to apply may result in a fine.
You can apply for this here......."
