However you may find it all rather depressing and need to go to the Doctors.

The bit where we are enlightened as to the way the well off are most likely than the poor to be fleeced ny the Private Health Providers is interesting.

Gordon Browns new generation 'super hospitals' (about 11 in total nationwide) were built under the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) by large companies like Skanska and McAlpine. I know of one PFI hospital where the cost of putting up a small shelf in an office is about £500 (paid by the NHS to Skanska).

It's a bit like Skoda market economics. You can buy the car for a fairly reasonable price but god help you when you come to pay for spares.
