:( Hi my zaunssi will fill with water for the start of the wash cycle but the drum will not go roun its just sitting there ready to go.
The brushes look ok on 1st inspection.
Help or it a cheap machine from a famous DIY shop

It is usually the brushes. Have you taken them out and checked how much carbon is poking out of the brass holder? Another thing to look at is any circuit boards for burnt areas. Some of them have a PCB on top of the timer, under a clear plastic cover. There may also be a board mounted in the bottom corner at the back.

:D Thanks I will have a look for any burnt tracks/components and take out the brushes for a better inspection.

I agree with Fido that it's likely to be the brushes. Even if it looks as though there is sufficient, it's likely there's not enough tension in the spring mechanism for good contact to the armature. God know how many times I've had the argument with spares depts. when you take them in they say the brushes are ok and I'm wasting my time only to find the machine works when replaced with new brushes..... don't be fobbed off !!

:D Thanks for all your help. The brushes were infact worn down. The new ones cost £30 but worth every penny.
I even got hold of the cct diagrams at the same time.
I found that when replacing the brushes using a mirror gave me a very good view of the back brush. So putting the new one in did not give a problem when trying to locate the screws.
Machine now back to full time washing duties.
Its great when something works.

Hi...I have same problem. Can you help more on the brushes? Are these part of the motor underneath?

The brushes are fitted to the motor at the opposite end to the pully.

Usually 2 screws hold them in place.
