zanussi washing machine not taking fabric softener

We put the liquid softener in the drawer and its still there at the end of the cycle. I presume there is a blockage somewhere......but where? and how can I clear it?

When its fabric softener time on the wash cycle, open the detergent drawer and see if water is actually entering the softener tray. In my experience the softener splashes up and blocks up the water spray nozzles above. Cleaning involves taking the top off the machine and dismantling the water dispensing mechanism - clearing the discharge holes with a piece of wire or similar.

Thats exactly what I did after posting this message. Well except dismantling. I've tried cleaning the jets from inside and am now running a cycle to see if its worked. I'll report back soon
