Im getting quite fed up of this washing machine. Ive had to replace no end of parts.

Anyway, in a new fit of recalcitrance its developed a new fault.

I was doing some washing (natch) and all was going well, right upto one point when the selector just stopped moving. It had done a partial wash and then just started comtemplating its navel.

Now, all it will do is just fill and drain - if you manually move the selector to that part of the programme - and that's all.

The only time selector will move on its own is the the spin cycle, but only when its been draining the drum for 15 minutes (although it was out of water after 1 minute or so) and then it will just skip from the initial drain to the next programme, missing the actuall spinning part.

Any idas?

just a quick thought it may be waiting for a signal to say a process has completed, usually with those signs I would look at the pressure chamber first.

There is a thin rubber pipe going up the side of the drum to a round disc.

With the power off disconnect the pipe and blow down it to make sure the other end is clear, typically gets blocked with gunge if you dont do any hot washes especially if using liquid detergent.
