"Zionist War Criminal"

I thought it said it was anti Zionist?
And he supports a Palestine, not Hamas

The sooner people stop deliberately confusing these things, the sooner people will get along and stop killing each other.
The downward red triangle is a sign of support for Hamas.
Globalise the blah blah, down with the zionist jews etc

Churchill was known as a friend of the Jews.

Nasty stuff, not to mention the damage the graffiti caused.

If you call someone a Nazi does that mean you hate Germans.
Its all very confusing.

I utterly condemn their actions.

But why is it racially aggravated. Churchill wasn't Jewish.
exactly !
He was a Zionist, and the protest was against Zionists.
Winston Churchill was a committed Zionist for much of his political career. While his support fluctuated early in his career and he was not involved in the 1917 Balfour Declaration, he became a strong, consistent supporter of the Zionist cause from 1921 onwards, often to the annoyance of his colleagues.

???

Churchill was a self declared Zionist. How is labelling him a Zionist racially aggravated.

Just join the dots for me!
Somebody thought they had reasonable grounds to conclude it was motivated by racial hate.
The court case will be interesting.
I suspect it will be reduced to simple criminal damage. But will a jury convict?

I was just trying to understand JohnD's argument. But this seems to clear it up.

AI Overview

While it is true that Arabic is a Semitic language and Arabs are linguistically and historically considered a Semitic people, the term "anti-semitic" is not applied to anti-Arab racism due to its specific historical origin and colloquial usage.
As I've said previously, anti-Jew has a special terminology all to itself. It's adopted the term anti-Semitism, even though it is scientifically incorrect.
But the conflation of anti-Israel and anti-Zionism with anti-Semtisim is also scientifically incorrect, but many still try to conflate the terms.

In reality, it means when Israelis, Jews, Zionists or their supporters are complaining about discrimination, they are limiting their complaints to anti-Jew, anti-Semitism hostility. They appear to have no concern for all the other types of discrimination in the world, only theirs. And often practise their own form of racial hostility, even Apartheid, e.g anti Muslim, anti-Palestinian, etc.
Whereas other activists encompass all types of racial, sex, gender, age, disability, etc hatred and discrimination.

Apparently the inverted triangles are a symbol of support for Hamas. I'll have to be careful next time I use my motoring cone.
You don't support armed resistance by an oppressed people against their oppressors?
You would have happily accepted the French resistance, Yugoslav and Soviet partisans, the Indian Independence Movement, the anti-Apartheid struggles. the Algerian Liberation movement, the Mujahadeen, etc, colluding with their oppressors?

Why does it matter that he was white? He daubed anti semitic hate and Hamas support on a statue.
It was anti-Zionist. It doesn't matter how many times you claim it's anti-Semitic, it doesn't make it so.
It simply illustrates your misunderstanding and wilful misrepresentation of world issues.

Technically you're probably right, but it is used and globally recognised.
It has been used for almost a hundred and fifty years and is universally accepted. I am sure there are lots of words which don't make perfect sense historically. But it is too late to change them.
And restricted purely for anti-Jew discrimination. Why, because it's historic?
Loads of 'historical' things are misaligned, but it doesn't stop modernity from correctly re-aligning them.,

It's never too late

The downward red triangle is a sign of support for Hamas.
It is not a simple support for Hamas, You're intentionally misrepresenting stuff again.
It has been adopted widely as a symbol of resistance, support, and anti-Israel sentiment.

Globalise the blah blah, down with the zionist jews etc
Conflation yet again.

Churchill was known as a friend of the Jews.
Not true, he was a Zionist. There's a difference.
Most zealous Christians are Zionists.
The conceptual, emotional, and religious foundation of Zionism originates from the Hebrew Bible

Nasty stuff, not to mention the damage the graffiti caused.
Really? What type of paint was used?

I wonder which interpretation MBK applies?
While seen by some as a symbol of Palestinian resistance, it is interpreted by others as a symbol of anti-semitism, intimidation, and the glorification of violence.

I think supporters of Israeli genocide will eventually claim that any symbol is a sign of support for terrorism.
