No it doesn’t, and I wouldn’t want one until I know it’ll work. I say new build, it’s 11 years old, but still relatively new.
I agree and i will be trying to keep my old boiler system going as long as possible until the HP technology matures (in a domestic setting).
Currently, i am of the opinion that HP systems are only a valid option when the house is designed specifically for them.
I am not too bothered about the heat loss/gain imbalances on existing housing as that can be fixed with retrofit insulation etc, my biggest worry with HPs is the air tightness the buildings needs for them to work. Airtightness, or, ventilation control is a serious problem to overcome with HPs. Even when the house is designed for HPs from scratch, ventilation issues (or lack of) are common.
No thanks. I don't want to live in a stale, damp house thank you.
